Under Falling Skies

This was the second game (first game being 'Friday') I played when I was new to board gaming hobby an year ago. If it was not for this game, I would not have got into the hobby. Winning this game was very much an achievement that time. Even after an year, this is still a great game for me. One different aspect of this game is the dice - 6s aren't always great and 1s aren't really bad.
This has good replayability by swapping the boards to difficult side and changing cities. I have not yet played the campaign. Components and art work are both great. I am in fact surprised to see the game still in stock here given the tight and tense mechanics that the game offers, which could draw more players.
I am glad I chose the right game in the initial days of my hobby that made me a game-oholic in the following days. I now have around 25 games.. more to buy :)

This game is a must have for solo gamers. This games comes with a lot of punch. Tons of replayability. This has a well designed campaign mode who likes that kind of games. But even before you dive into the campaign, it has lot of things to explore. 3 different cities to defend. Each city is a bit different with special abilities and stuff. The 4 sky tiles are two sided(one side for easy threat and the other for high threat). One can use any combination of those 4 sky tiles to decrease or increase the level of challenge.

Since it's a dice game, the dice you rolled will make every turn different from previous and hence every game turns out different. While there is luck factor with dice rolling, there are ways to mitigate luck (example by using white die to reroll remaining dice). There is a lot of strategy involved in drafting dice.

Overall it's a superb game. Set up time of game is hardly 5 mins. A game would take 20 minutes. Players prone to AP may take 30 mins depending on how quickly they are making decisions.
