PDX
Portland's airport is expanding and airlines are racing to become the city's favorite. In PDX, you take on the role of an airline competing to expand your concourse, open destinations, and optimize your routes through strategic resource management.
Each turn, players assign workers to airport offices to secure new destinations, construct gates, open service hubs, and invest in advertising campaigns. As planes arrive and depart, airlines gain actions and service tokens representing resources such as comfort, shopping, and food — that are used to unlock new routes and enhance airport infrastructure. Efficiently managing destinations and aligning services with market demand is key to outpacing the competition.
Throughout the game, players must balance long-term growth with tactical decisions, rearranging destinations on their gates, launching flights, and leveraging executive actions for strategic advantages. Effectively manage routes to chain bonus actions and time advertising campaigns to get ahead. The game ends when the airport reaches full capacity—either through office expansion or market saturation—at which point the airline with the most prestige wins.
PDX is a breezy 2-4 player game that blends worker placement, tableau management, and economic strategy into a highly interactive airport expansion race where every decision impacts the evolving air travel landscape. The game includes variants for seasoned players and can be played with the dice-based automa in solo mode or added to a 2 or 3 player game as an extra player.
